Biography

Charles Wright lived in Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand.

Charles Wright was born to Elizabeth and William Wright in 1884.^[1]

He married his English-born/New Zealand raised wife in New Zealand on 3 August 1910.^[2] They had two children together when they got married and went on to have more children. They lived in Dunedin.

In 1911, they are both at 8 York Terrace, Great King St, Dunedin. They are also listed at 74 Stafford St, I assume they moved during the enrolment period. I have not yet found which roll they were removed from.

In 1919, Charles and Eliza are at 3 Cameron St, Dunedin. He is a labourer.

By 1928, Charles was a bootmaker and they are at 22 Wairoa St, Roslyn.

Charles died there in 1933 at only 49 years old.^[3] They are both buried in Anderson's Bay Cemetery. They have an adult child and infant grandchild interred with them.^[4]

Research Notes

Born in Dunedin AND to Elizabeth and William Wright

1883/315 Wright John Edwin - his probate confirms a brother James and 1905 confirms that and a Charles. Charles with military record can't be our Charles as he was single b4 war.

Another sibling is 1902/287 Louisa Elizabeth Wright m. James Bootten because grave says he is son-in-law but no birth found for Louisa to Elizabeth and William.
