Mary was baptised on 7 August 1808 in Prestwich, St Mary, Lancashire, England.[2]
When Mary was 25 she married John Locke on 26 May 1834 in Manchester, St Mary, Lancashire, England. The couple had 5 children: Sarah Ann Locke, Elizabeth Locke, Theophelous Locke, Rachel Locke and James Locke.[3]
In the 1851 census Mary (age 42) was living in Crumpsall, Lancashire, England.[4]
