Elizabeth (Young) Hollamby was born in Speldhurst, Kent, England.

Elizabeth Young was baptised on June 27, 1762 at St Mary the Virgin in Speldhurst, Kent, daughter of John Young and Sarah (Evans) Young.^[1]

Elizabeth married Thomas Hollamby (1759 - 1826) by banns on January 23, 1786 at St Mary the Virgin in Speldhurst^[2]. She was a resident of Speldhurst at the time, and signed the marriage record with a "X".

They had the following children:

Research Notes

Her parents John and Sarah Young had another child baptised at Speldhurst on November 2, 1766. Originally this child had no name, but then the christian name "Eliz" was added later. Ordinarily this would suggest that the earlier daughter Elizabeth had passed away. But this Elizabeth's burial records her as being 61 years of age, which puts her birth at 1762. Was this an Eliza? Or did the curate forget to add the full name in at the time, and added the wrong name later as an afterthought?^[4]
