Biography

Catherine H Younger was born in January 1851 in Tennessee, United States, daughter of Armistead Younger (~1811–1883) and Rebecca C Crews (1814–~1897). By 1856 the family was in Franklin Township, Independence County, Arkansas.[1]

She married W. Emanuel Davis on 30 September 1867 in Independence County, Arkansas. She was 17 years old.[2][3][4][5][6] They were the parents of Effie.[7][8][9]

Catherine died on 6 February 1923[10] and was buried in Stone County, Arkansas.[11]

Research Notes

According to 1900 and 1910 censuses, Catherine did not have children, however; a Sebastian Co death register for Effie Irene Younger Grigsby shows them as the parents. Effie was only 16 when she married and she and her husband were both living on the same property as Catherine and Emanuel in 1900. Perhaps Effie was adopted or a foster. Catherine dies in the home of Effie's widower.
