Biography

Rose (Zaccaria) D'Amico has Italian Roots.

Rosa was born in 1889. She was the daughter of Francesco Zaccaria and Filomena Di Vincenzo. She married her cousin Giuseppe Antonio D'Amico in 1908. One child was born in Larino in 1912. Shortly after, Rose migrated to Canada. At least five children were born in Canada. Rose died on 18 Jun 1949 in Montréal at age of 60 years and was buried on 22 Jun 1949 at the Cimetière Notre-Dame-Des-Neiges in Montréal.

Mrs. Rose D’Amico mother of [...] of the editorial staff of Montreal-Matin died in Notre Dame Hospital on Saturday night after a lengthy illness. She was 59. Born at Larin in the province of Campobasso, Italy, Mrs. D'Amico was the former Rose Zaccharia. She came to Canada 37 year ago and at the time of her death resided at 6797 Casgrain street. She is survived by two other sons [...]; three daughters [...] and several grandchildren. Funeral service will be held in Notre Dame de la Defense Church at 9 o’clock tomorrow morning. The body la resting at the funeral parlor of J. S. Valle 6882 St Donia street Interment will be in Cote des Neiges Cemetery.
