McAllen — Alejandro Zamora Sr, 95, left to be with the Lord on January 18, 2021 at Amara Hospice in McAllen. He was born to Gregorio Zamora Sr. and Elvira Rios Zamora on November 26, 1925 in Peñitas, Texas. Alejandro was his family's life-long hero. He served as PFC in the United States Army during WW2. Alejandro loved the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating, dancing, and site-seeing. He was also a big advocate of a good education for all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. But, most of all he loved spending his time with his lovely wife, Ninfa, and his five children. He had great love and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and attended St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Peñitas his entire life. Alejandro was preceded in death by Ninfa G. Zamora, his loving wife of 69 years. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Alejandro (Pamela C.) Zamora Jr, Estella (Larry A.) Garza, Diana E. (Enrique R. Sr.) Lozano, Viola Z. (Scott) Rosenkrantz and Norma Linda (Steven M.) Walters, his 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Edelmira "Millie" (Robert) Smith and sister-in law Estela Zamora. Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Funeraria del Angel of Mission.[2]
