Biography

James Anderson Zipperer was born on July 28, 1861.^[1] He was the son of Phanuel Samuel Zipperer and Mary Camilla Helmly.^[2]

James was married to Velilia V. Helmey on March 26, 1886 by the Rev. J. Austin.^[3] The Georgia marriage licenses states the date was March 28, 1886.^[4] They had 9 children by the 1900 census^[5] and 12 children (of whom 9 were living) by the 1910 census.^[6] James was a farmer and lived in Effingham County for most of his life.^[7][8]

He died on September 23, 1940 in Marlow ^[9] and is buried in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Guyton (Effingham County), Georgia.^[1][9][10]
