Cornelis Johannes Zwijsen, born 19 December 1858^[1] in ’s-Hertogenbosch, zoon Hendrikus Zwijsen en Antonette Smulders. He passed away 4 June 1930^[2] in Rosmalen

Cornelis Johannes Zwijsen entered the Congregatie der Fraters van O.L. Vrouwe van Barmhartigheid in Tilburg in 1876. As a monk he was known by the name of Victor. Ordained a priest in 1882, he worked for 10 years in the pastoral care in the Paterskerk in Tilburg. Left in 1894 for the mission in Curaçao where he was Rector of the St. Thomas College. For his work in education he was decorated by the Venezuelan government with the Order of Bolivia 3rd Class. During that period he was also editor of the Curaçao newspaper Amigoe di Curaçao. In 1909 he returned to the Netherlands. Father Zwijsen was, among other things, editor-in-chief of “De Tijd” and of the magazine De Engelbewaarder ”^[3]
