According to her grandson Russ Duemmel, her nickname was "Fronnie." She and her husband had lived in German Village in Columbus, but later bought a farm in Obetz in the mid-1950s. When were elderly, they moved to the Clintonville neighborhood of Columbus to live with their son Bob. During the Great Depression and WWII, she supplemented the family income by being a numbers runner in a game based on the stock market. She was a dog lover and had Pomeranians.
