I would like to find the parents of Wm John Croft 1862-1933

Question

I'm hoping to find the parents of William John Croft b 28 Aug 1862 in Newfoundland  d 13 Jan 1933 in Guelph, Ontario.  Married Harriet Parsons 1868-1951 on 27 Sep 1892.  This fellow is supposed to be a descendant of Robert Croft 1797-1867 and his wife Eleanor Noel 1796 1851.  On Williams death notice his widow Harriet states that William's father was Thomas Croft born in England. I really would love to find a positive link from Robert Croft to Thomas Croft to William John Croft. Family history says that there is a direct line between these three men but I can't find the proof of this.  I know Robert Croft married Eleanor Noel on 14 Feb 1828 in Harbour Grace NFLD. I would appreciate help to establish this link  please. Thank You so very much.   John

I mentioned this data in my request. Perhaps I should have posed the question differently. can there be a firm family line drawn from Robert Croft 1797-1867 to Thomas Croft 1862-1933 to William John Croft 1862-1933. I guess that is the real question here. Thank you.
