New member introducing myself and my brick wall

Hi all.  I've been pursuing my genealogy for 30 years and have gotten most of my ancestor lines back to the first immigrant to the USA.  My brick wall is with my own surname, Hatch!  I easily go back to colonial North Carolina and Virginia but there good source data is lacking (too many wars and burned courthouses).  I believe my Hatch line comes from a John Hatch from England who came into Maryland as an indentured servant in the early 1600s and was "an interesting character in early Maryland history." While he is well documented in colonial records, definitively connecting him to my later ancestors has been a challenge and which defied a professional genealogist 4th cousin.  Almost all Hatch genealogies out there are from several northern lines.  I have recently gotten my Y-chromosome test done and will see if that sheds any light!  Good hunting to all of you!

Go back to your question and add the tag "Hatch" to attract others searching the line.

I am not as lucky as you, I cannot locate the first immigrant on several lines.

Keep on hunting, you will find that there are many who will help you.
