According to the information that I have gathered, John Carson was born in Scotland in 1740 and migrated to America before 1765. His son, John English Carson was born in Orange County, North Carolina in 1765. John Carson, according to ancestry.com was possibly from Kircudbright and was married to Marinda. John English Carson is my 4th great-grandfather and is buried in Franklin County, Georgia, where the Carsons have resided since his arrival. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Where on ancestry.com did you find the information? Was it a historical record? Someone else’s family tree? Could you send a link to where you go the information? That would really help me in knowing where to start. Thanks.

Yes, thank you. Here is a link to his "profile" on ancestry.com https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/2974146/person/-1794019329/hints?Hints.hintStatus=Deferred

Again, I am confident that John English Carson is a direct ancestor. But, beyond him is uncertain.
There aren't really any sources on that ancestry profile. How do you know where the information came from,  or if its true?
No, that is all the information that I have. I do not know if it is true or accurate. That is my goal to confirm if John Carson is John English Carson's father. If so, further information for him. If not, the correct father of John English.

By the way, I see John Carsons still in that Scottish town later.  JC is a very common name, so can't cross reference without more facts...

Thank you for the response and information. My goal is to confirm who was actually John English Carson's father. I have not come across Thomas or Elizabeth during any of my limited research. I will certainly look into this.

So the john carson i found married a Mary Livingston and was from Scotland.  Reason why i know. This is i believe one of my ancestors. - William Carson(no relation) was a guardian to his son.   However I do believe the John Carson I know settled in NH.
