something odd about this sister-in-law of Kit Carson

Kit Carson is one of the featured Frontier Notables connections this week.

My connection to him goes through his brother Andrew's wife, Margaret Unknown

There's something odd about Margaret's profile.  She has two husbands named Andrew Carson, and they don't appear to be the same person.

Could someone knowledgeable please take a look?

Cheers

Shirlea, one link is broken. Here's a correction:

Margaret (Unknown) Carson

Thank you, Jim!  Very kind!

Based on a brief look at the profiles on FamilySearch, neither Andrew Carson would be her husband.

Andrew Carson on FamilySearch

Margaret Johnson on FamilySearch

Both profiles need some work both on FamilySearch and on Wikitree. Their Wikitree profiles have no sources at all.

I'll take a look and try to add some sources and figure out which (if either) Andrew Carson is the right profile.

According to the 1850 Census, both Andrew and Margaret were born in Ireland.

Update: After doing some work on FamilySearch, I'm not convinced that either of these Andrews were married to the Margaret who bore James W. R. Carson. Her Andrew was born in Antrim County, Ireland, and died in Allegheny County, North Carolina.

I'm going to add some sources to Margaret, and then we'll see where we go from there.

Update2: I've added sources to Margaret and created a brief biography for her. Her maiden name was Johnson, but I can't change it. The profile manager will have to do that. I sent him a PM.

I'm not sure what to do with the Andrew profiles. Neither one of them fits her husband. I think perhaps the best thing to do is create a brand new profile for him with sources. and detach the two existing profiles.

Please do detach as soon as you are sure neither is her husband.  That might be right now!

The profile is conflated. My suggestion is to focus on the child attached to the profile and ascertain the child's parents.
