Hi JG. Reference number 9, the 1891 census, has a link

http://www.findmy

That reference is truncated. It needs something like

http://www.findmypast.com : n.d.

and probably more.

Oops.  I was looking for something like that but didn't spot it. It us what the error report was saying after all.  I was convinced itwas something to do with the findmypast primary source and only glanced briefly at the family search ones.

Many thanks for finding this for me.  I will go and find what needs to be done to sort it out now.
No problem, JG. Thank you for the star!

Hello,

I'm a "Newby" at WikiTree, but it appears that you have an error in at least one link to FamilySearch: If you remove the characters marked in bold below, so the link reads "https://www.familysearch.org/tree/pedigree/landscape/G75Y-XTT", it appears to work.

Give it a try!  The "Familysearch" label probably needs to be enclosed in the proper syntax - as I said, I'm not an "expert data doctor" for WikiTree!

Here is an excerpt from your code:

Hi Gary. Welcome! In fact those characters are correct. Square brackets are the format in WikiTree markup language for hiding the URL and displaying an underlined link like FamilySearch. See

I'm a "Newby" at WikiTree,

Well you recently joined but you're giving good advice already.

I was convinced that the error was with the first source which was the only Finmypast primary source. I didn't look carefully enough at the Family Search ones which often have findmypast as secondary source. (Actually primary and secondary are the other way round, but you know what I mean).

My problem was I didn't look carefully enough, but your analysis of the problem was good and I am sure it will be useful to other wikitreers who are just finding their feet.

Hi Jim,

thanks for your generous response. I wasn't concerned about the square brackets as much as the trailing " Familysearch", but I'm glad you were able to help!
Thanks again - I now understand that WikiTree only treats the text before the first space as the link to be followed!
