Hi, I'm Erik (Introduction)

I've been researching my Dutch and German roots for about twenty years. As a first-generation immigrant to the USA, I've been very fortunate that the Frisians have been so proactive in making records available online (both my grandfathers came from Friesland.)  I expect that my grandmother's lines will be more difficult to research remotely; one came from the Gumbinnen area of Ostpreussen and the other from Silesia (formerly Freiburg and Breslau, currently Świebodzice and Wrocław.)

I'm looking forward to participating in this one-tree project and am surprised that it's taken so long for this task to be attempted.

Glad to meet you, Erik ... and happy to have you part of us!!!
Welcome to you. Most of the places you mentioned I've never heard of. That's a good thing.

Hallo Erik!

Welcome to WikiTree and the Dutch Roots. I m sorry I m a bit slow but not less enthousiastic you join us.

Tip at WikiTree: Keep asking, asking, asking :)

And enjoy!

And yes my ancestors from my fathers side lived around Schwerin Germany (East German for a while and parts now Poland too) and it s hard to get dates. Just add what you have and we can only hope we will get help from members living over there.

A.
