Mainly Erie County -- other branches spread to Chautauqua and Niagara Counties .... (not to mention Canada!) and my own later to Monroe County.
I was born in Erie County New York, in Buffalo. I have ancestors in East Eden, Hamburg, Cheektowaga and Williamsville and Amherst.. I have cousins  in Cheektowaga, Amherst and Clarence. I also have ancestors from other counties like Dunkirk Chautauqua County, and Attica and Wellsville, not sure what county those are in at this moment. I have done a lot of research on the Old East Side of Buffalo New York where my family lived for 100 years.  What surnames  do you have in Erie County Michael? I have Troy, Kellermann, Gantzer, Jeffers, Heine, Versch, Schauf, Betz, Kopp, Hansen, Bauer, and probably a lot more if I get into extended family :)
Surnames in my direct line from Buffalo and Williamsville: O'Brien, Desmond, Tryon, Stephenson, McMahon, Horrigan, Herrick, Schneggenburger, Uschold, Granacher, Daniel -- if I get started on extended family we will be here a long time!   My ancestors and their descendants are throughout almost all the towns you listed.   Big families among the German and Irish lines.

Many of the Irish were by the Sea Wall initially.
Second cousin to Sharon C. above. While I wasn't born in Buffalo, my folks were. My father's heritage is all Buffalo back to the mid 1840s when his ancestors immigrated from Germany, one branch being the same as Sharon's. Our shared genes are scattered all over Erie county. ;-)
Kind of late to this post, but most of my family in America settled in Chautauqua and Steuben counties. The actual towns being Jamestown, Cassadaga, Silver Creek, Brocton, Dunkirk, and Lily Dale (Chautauqua) and Hornell (Steuben). Surnames of family members from these places include: Abram, Anderson, Burd, Griese, Holcomb, Hultquist, Knox, Opacinch, Peterson, Taft, Wooley.
