project box removal needed? [closed]

Some time ago I added the template to some of my profiles (mostly the oldest individuals).  Now because of changes at WikiTree it thinks these are errors.  The whole idea was using templates so we did not need to do direct editing of every profile.  But looks like now need to remove or change the template in each one.  Seems to me that it created a mess where none existed before.  And we have to spend time on this and none of this is real genealogy, it is just Wikitree fluff.

tl/dr: Do I have to remove the {{US Southern Colonist}} templates I added?  (There was no intent for these to be project protected.)

EDIT: I see other posts on the same errors saying they are test errors.  But I will still want to know if Southern Colonies wants this to be for project boxes or just project profiles (if that concept even still exists, as stickers I guess).

The cat slipped out of the bag prematurely.

But the suggestions you saw still expressed the current policy on Project Boxes: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Project_Boxes

cats have never been known for following orders
Orders??? You must mean suggestions.

Well, since I did not get a real answer on this, the changes to stickers then generated more errors.  Do we really need this sort of made-up-work on good profiles when there are so many bad ones that nobody fixes?

Not really.  The trick would be to design the template calling interface to suit the profile, not the function.  Just pass in any relevant variables that can't be provided as built-in profile variables.

Then the template code analyses the variables and decides the output required.  The user doesn't have to apply any policies.

For instance, the same template call could be made to produce a project box or a sticker depending on PPP.

But we aren't disconnecting the transclusion functionality from the little graphic thingies.
