Son of Richard Morton II and Cynthia S. Hon

Brother of Nellie Ellen Morton, John Morton, Elizabeth Morton, Hezekiah E. Morton, Margaret Morton, Moses Morton, Richard Morton, William Morton and James Owen Morton

Husband of Mary Jane J. Stone — married August 16, 1855 in Estill County, KY

Husband of Eliza Stone — married September 24, 1885 in Kentucky

Father of Sarah E. Morton, Nancy Mariah Morton, Richard B. Morton, Louesa Morton, Jincy T. Morton, John Morton, Margaret C. Morton, James Mahalon Morton, Green Berry Morton, Mary Ellen Morton, Laura Morton and Emma L. (Morton) Stone

Died April 30, 1908

in Stanton, Powell County, Ky

Fought for the Confederacy at the age of  30.  Not much more is known to the family because Kentucky did not succeed from the Union and it was not popular to fight for the Confederacy.

He would be Alvin Thomas Mortons G Great Uncle.   At this time I have not found out if any other family members fought in this war.
