Would you like a sticker to honor your ancestor who was involved in a Disaster?

Whether its an earthquake, an industrial fire, an avalanche, or any other type of natural or man-made disaster. the Worldwide Disasters project seeks to honor those who have been victims, survivors or rescue workers. We would like to have stickers that can be added to profiles to acknowledge a person's involvement in a disaster.

An example of a person who would be great to put one of these stickers on is Robert Adams, who died from injuries sustained in the 1925 Tri-State tornado in the United States.

We were thinking that examples might be stickers which say: 'xxx was killed in a maritime disaster', or 'xxx survived an earthquake disaster' with a small globe, which is the Worldwide Disasters project branding.

This is the project page for the Worldwide Disasters project: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Worldwide_Disasters

Thank you for your feedback!

Brilliant Idea I think I have a distant cousin that went down with the titanic and my grandfather was on the way back to Ireland when the ship he was on was torpedoed,
Thanks Stephanie for your response!

My ancestor was reported dead in the news and a medical journal, but was actually alive! What will his sticker say?  :-)

I would hope the sticker would say ..."was in a  .....disaster."

I have gg grandfather, gg grandmother and all their children who were in a tornado.  But no one was killed.
It could definitely say 'was in' like you've suggested, if you prefer that to 'survived'

Yes stickers are important for those involved in disasters and already in use and approved for the subproject Worldwide Mining Disasters.

All victims, rescuers and those left behind should be honored in their profiles to show their involvement and memorialize them in any disaster circumstance.

I would use these stickers, and encourage the use by members who have lost ancestors and relatives in disasters.

Stickers are fine with me. Preferably with the spinning globe and editable for Survivors and Deceased.

Not sure we will be able to do the spinning globe - I'll check if that is possible. We'll definitely make it editable. Thanks, Lynette, for your feedback.

Yes, definitely.  And I'm glad you included rescue workers.

Nan, thanks for giving your feedback. Rescue workers are so important to acknowledge. They are so courageous, putting their lives on the line to help others!

I know I am a little late to the game but I was just relooking at the stickers list. Would somebody who died, like my 2nd Greatgrandmother, from the The Spanish Flu epidemic in 1917-1918 fall under this sticker?
