Another blocked merge

Question

De-Geneville-46 has no parents, siblings, or children, but he does have the same wife as Of_Geneva-20 (by the way, neither of these names fits the surname conventions for French medieval profiles). Is there any reason not to merge him out of existence?

Peter and Piers are clearly the same person, Lord of Ludlow castle and Trim, husband of Maud Lacy, and called variously de Geneville or de Genève.

Actually, yes, the fact that neither profile has a correct Last name at birth is often a reason for not proposing a merge, but leaving it as Unmerged instead.

It doesn't help that the bio on Peter of Geneva, looks like complete nonsense.  And I don't think the names Geneville and Geneva are necessarily interchangeable?

Perhaps starting with the wife of both and working out who she actually married might be an option

Yes, I see there are more problems here than I had expected. It looks as if De_Geneville-46 is conflating two spouses of Maud, Pierre de Genève and Geoffrey de Geneville. I see Geoffrey is already on Maud's profile. I'll circle back to it when I have some time and see what can be done. It seems highly unlikely he would have been born in Dublin.

turns out De-Geneville-46 is not an active user so I can't change the birth name. Have added his father and a source, but the name should be changed before the merge. Then the bio may need some tweaking.
