Does anyone know who were the parents of John D. Butler (Ohio 1843-1889)?

I'm looking for the parents of John D. Butler (b. 26 Jan. 1843 in Morgan County, Ohio and died 13 June 1889 in Pickaway County, OH). His obituary said that he was the youngest of 14.  I can't find any difinitive evidence of his parentsor any of his siblings.  (A lead contender for a brother is Charles Lee Butler born in 1831, but even that theory has some holes in it.)

To top it off, there is a different John D. Butler who was born close to 1843 and who lived in Ross County Ohio (the county just south of Pickaway) who lived into the 20th century and has confused other geneaologists who have researched or helped with this question.
 
John D. and his wife Mahuldah (Hulda/Huldy) Fulkerson-Butler had 12 children.  Of those 12, only their youngest, James Alva Butler had any children... which is also very odd to me.  I am John and Hulda's great-grandson through James Alva.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

It was apparently John's brother, Charles, who made the oath on John's marriage to Mahuldah. He swore in Pickaway County that John was over 20 years of age on 26 Oct 1861 (really only 18), and that Mahuldah was over 18 years of age. He signed as C. L. Butler, but is listed on the document as Charles L. Butler. It is interesting that the marriage performed on 27 Oct 1861 was by J. Wagenhals, who was a minister of the Angelical Lutheran Church. You might try looking for John Butler's parents under a German or French spelling/meaning of Butler. They were very likely deceased by the time John (being the youngest of 14) was of age.
