Biography

Charles born 1807, the son of John Quincy Adams, sixth U.S. President, grandson of second U.S. President John Adams. Served in the U.S. House of Representatives under President Abraham Lincoln. US Ambassador to the UK, 1861-68. Married Abigail Browne Brooks (1808-1889). Unitarian, Diplomat, Republican.
