"Sir William Oliphant of Aberdalgie is the son of Sir John Oliphant of Aberdalgie. He married Marian de Berwick, daughter of Thomas de Berwick.
In 1417 he was retoured heir. In 1424 he was sent to London as a hostage for the ransom of King James I and disappears from records thereafter in 1425.[1]
