Biography

Simon was born in 1725 in Halifax, North Carolina. He passed away 31 Dec 1758 in Edgecombe, North Carolina.

Simon Parker family and descendants are all over the south as proven by well documented information. The North Carolina papers lead me to find Charity Parker Jones, daughter of Simon Parker in Halifax County, North Carolina. There are well documented records where Charity Jones sends her son Tignal Jones to Franklin County, Georgia to see about her brother either William or James Parker about his estate. James or William is dead at this time and Charity Jones is checking on her brother's estate in Franklin County, Georgia. There are excellent records and names in relation to this estate in the North Carolina State Records, Franklin County Georgia Records, and Halifax County, North Carolina Records. Simon Parker was from Edgecombe County, North Carolina and before that may have been in Gates County, North Carolina. There is evidence that Charity Parker husband may have lived in Gates County or that his father lived in Gates County, North Carolina. Here is a list of names and places that are associated with Simon Parker in connection with the estate of the deceased Parker in Franklin County, Georgia. William Rose and wife Milly, maiden name may be Parker, William Parker, brother of Charity Parker Jones, James Parker, brother of Charity Parker Jones, Francis Parker, brother of Charity Parker Jones, Jethro Parker son in law of Ptolomey Powell, William Lee and wife Patsey, maiden name may be Parker, Hightower Dodson and wife Ruth Parker, John Daniel, Eustace Daniel, Shadrach Goodin and wife Elizabeth, maiden name may be Parker, William Cain and Hardee Hatley/Hartley/Hastey. Here are the areas where these descendants lived, Smith County, Tennessee, York County, South Carolina, Burke County, Georgia, Hancock County, Georgia, Nash County, North Carolina, Montgomery County, North Carolina, Green County, Georgia, and Chatham County, North Carolina.

Judah Parker, Sarah Parker, Winnifred Parker and Charity Parker were four orphaned children of Simon Parker. Benjamin Foreman was the guardian of these four orphaned children from 1760 to 1769. This same Charity Parker who married Arthur Jones lived in Halifax North Carolina while her deceased brother Estate was in Franklin Georgia. Charity Parker Jones sent her son Tignal Jones down to Franklin Georgia to check on her brother Estate, either James or William Parker.

Other Parkers mentioned in the Halifax North Carolina record are James Parker, William Parker, Francis Parker, and Jethro Parker. Areas for all people mentioned in the Halifax Record include Smith, Tennessee, York, South Carolina, Burke, Georgia, Hancock, Georgia, Nash, North Carolina, Montgomery, North Carolina, Green, Georgia, and Chatham, North Carolina.
