Note: The numbering system for hereditary titles in Ireland between 1300-1600 is often a source of confusion for researchers. For the Princes of Carbery, here we are using the numbering most commonly supported by modern historians.

previous:
Finghin MacCarthy Reagh, 10th Prince of Carbery
Donal MacCarthy Reagh, 12th Prince of Carbery
1505-1531
next:
Cormac na Haoine MacCarthy Reagh 13th Prince of Carbery

He m. (2) Eleanor Fitzgerald, daughter of Gerald Fitzgerald KG, 8th Earl of Kildare. The issue of this marriage was 4 sons, who were successive (by usage of tanistry) Princes of Carbery.

Note:Eleanor's sister Alice FitzGerald was wife to Conn O'Neill, 1st Earl of Tyrone.

Donal MacCarthy Reagh died in 1531. He was succeeded by Cormac na Haoine MacCarthy Reagh

Issue by Eleanor Fitzgerald:

MacCarthy Reagh-4 and MacCarthy Reagh-13 appear to represent the same person because: clear duplicate

Reagh-9 and MacCarthy Reagh-13 appear to represent the same person because: Both seem to represent Donal MacCarthy Reagh, 12th Prince of Carbery

MacCarthy Reagh-13 and Reagh-9 do not represent the same person because: Last name needs to remain McCarthy-Reigh to distinguish between different branches of the McCarthy clan.

Hi Jeffrey

Wikipedia as an estimated birth of 1450-1460. Do you have a source that supports your 1480 date? I know it can be hard back when birth records were not available. I believe that MacCarthy_Reagh-13 is a duplicate of this and needs to be merged into yours. Let me know if you have questions or need help!
