View of Harrison's Almshouses on Wade Lane with St John's Church in the background. Harrison's Almshouses were the gift of the Leeds merchant John Harrison, who left £1,000 as an endowment. They were built in 1653 for 40 poor women. This photograph was taken shortly before demolition.
