Johannes Asee, son of Gulielmi Asee, was baptized 12 May 1636 at Cottingham, Yorkshire (East Riding), England.[1] From the Parish Registers of Cottingham-Baptisms:[2]
Cottingham is close to Kirk Ella, both are situated in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
John Acey arrived in New England with his parents and three sisters in December 1638 aboard the ship John of London, with a group led by Ezekiel Rogers.
John Acey, son of William Acey and Margaret Haiton, was about 40 years old in 1678 (Essex Ct. Files, 23:27-8). He married in Hampton, N. H., 5 June 1676, Hannah, daughter of Henry Green of Hampton (Registry of Deeds, Exeter, N. H.). … He died 1690. The inventory of his estate was taken 24 March 1690-1, and filed in court the next day (Essex Probate). John Acy recieved from his father, William Acy, by deed, dated 9 April 1675, one-half of house, barn and home lot in Rowley, between the homestead of Joseph Horsley towards the sourth and the homestead of Thomas Tenney towards the north, abutting on the street towards the east, and on the brook towards the west, together with the other half after grantor's decease (Essex Deeds, 3 Ips.:373). These were the original lots laid out to John Trumble and John Haseltine.[3]
