Biography

I do not know much about my heritage on either side. I wish to find out what it is, as I have always felt more of a connection to my English line than any of my other nationalities. On my mothers side, our family has English heritage that dates back very far within US history, back to the American Revolution (blood line allows entry into the Daughters of the American Revolution Society) and beyond. Our family name is Bell; I was told that it is in relation to Alexander Graham Bell, the inventor of the phone (now I am unsure). I do know that my mother is English, Irish and Scottish (the Scottish being from the side of the family that holds the Bell name).

My father's lineage will be harder to find. My problem, I know even less about him and where he comes from. My mother said his father changed the way their last name was spelled, from Allemande (the French word for German) to Aleman (the Spanish word for German). I have found my fathers birth name. It was Herminio Antonio and he changed it when he applied for his social security number at the age of 15 to Herman Antonio. He was born in San Bernardino, CA on 2/20/1939 and his parents were, Cattalina Mancinas and Joseph Aleman. He was the third child for this couple, all born in San Bernardino, of the 10 children his mother had from 1932 to 1946. I have no names to go with his line, other than those listed, so it will make it hard to trace.

Hi

You've been a member for about a week so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions? Most of us have questions after all that information!

I want to help! Click my name, send me a private message or ask in the comment section of my page. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

PS To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

Welcome Theresina

I am pleased to confirm you as a full member, and welcome you to the WikiTree family as your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.

I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.

I am here to help answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site

Happy tree climbing
