Robert Alexander Sr. was born in 1740 to Garrard Alexander and Mary Dent. He married Maryamne Stoddert and they had the following children:

His father Garrard Alexander wrote his will in Aug 1760. [1]He died on 16 Sep 1761 and per his will, left Abingdon Plantation and adjoining 904 acres to his son Robert Alexander, Sr., along with another 863 acres of land and the following slaves:
Robert Alexander Sr. wrote his will 9 Jan 1793, a codicil was written 28 Jan 1793, and proved 18 Feb 1793[2]

Codicil Dated: 28th January 1793, brother George Alexander had a child by Mary Robinson, who is poor and unprovided for.

Special verdict says Robert died 10th January, 1793.
