Henry Watkins Allen
Henry Allen is Notable.
- Educated at Marion College in Missouri.
- Fought for the Texas Revolution against Mexico.
- (CSA) Governor of Confederate-controlled part of Louisiana (1864-65). (19th Governor Michael Hahn served concurrently as the appointed governor of Union-controlled territory until the Confederacy was dissolved.)
- An unrepentant Confederate, Allen fled to Mexico rather than pledge loyalty to the US after the war. He died in Mexico City shortly thereafter.

Allen Parish, Louisiana is named in Gov. Allen's honor.
