"In 1672 he was one of the 84 proprietors of the divisions of land in Farmington and had 8th of Jan, 1673, 35 acres divided to him by the proprietors. In Oct 1673, he was one of the petitioners to the General Court of Connecticut Colony to have Mattatuck or Waterbury made a plantation. He removed there 1678 and is on their record called Cooper from his trade and to distinguish him from Abraham, son of Francis Andrews, who came there from and is supposed to be a first cousin. His house lot of two acres where the center of the present city 1871 is visible corner of Main and Bank streets.[1]
Nickname "Cooper" from his trade and to distinguish him from another Abraham Andrews, son of John.[1]

Abraham Andrews, son of Frances and Ann, was born say between 1652 and 1662.[2] He has in the past been confused with Abraham Andrews, son of John, born in 1648.

It is likely that these

The 1681 will of John names a grandchild, Abraham, son of Abraham and Mary's 1683 will mention's the two eldest daughters of son Abraham. This profile shows that this Abraham did not have a first child until 1683 and no Abraham until 1687.
Thimas, Harold and Chris, is there a good reason to retain PPP? New rules introduced last year require a project be associated with and be co-managed by a project if a profile is PPP but perhaps PPP isn't needed here? What do you think?
The wife attached to this profile is probably not the one who married Abraham son of John Andrews. The Waterbury Vital Records show children born to Abraham Jr. (as he was called) were Rebecca 1672, Mary 1674, Hannah 1678, Abraham 1680, Sarah 1683, Rachel 1686, John 1688 and Thomas 1692.
In the will of father John Andrews, he mentions his son Abraham and his grandson Abraham. So Abraham Andrews must have had a grandson Abraham born before Nov 1681, date of will. The Abraham who married Rebecca did (b. 1680) but the Abraham Andrews who married Sarah Porter did not have an Abraham until 1687. She also removed to Fairfield County after the death of Abraham where she remarried and her kids married in Fairfield County.
Abraham Andrews - 4th son of Francis Andrews of Hartford/Fairfield.
My notes say that Abraham was first married about 1671 to Rebecca Carrington, and that they had one daughter (that would be Sarah, the eldest child). Rebecca presumably died about 1680-1681.
Abrraham then married about 1681-1682 to Sarah Porter, and she was mother of the other children.
Andrus-390 and Andrews-183 appear to represent the same person because: A new article, Barry E. Hinman, "Untangling the Ancestry of the two men named Abraham Andrews in Waterbury, Connecticut," in NEHGS Register, Vol 168, Winter 2015, p 13-15, makes a good argument that the Abraham Andrews who married Rebecca Carrington? was son of John, not Francis. And that the Abraham who m. Sarah Taylor was son of Francis.

Andrews-183 and Andrus-58 appear to represent the same person because:
Same wife and daughter (Mary, married James Benedict). The sources given on both records give the Andrus spelling of the surname. Whichever direction the merge is ultimately done in, the alternate spelling should be added to Other Last Names, to make it searchable under either spelling.
