Biography

1877 Birth: Charles was born in the October quarter of 1876 in Newport, Yorkshire (7 miles east of the market town of Howden). His parents are George William Bailey (1848-1927) and Elizabeth (Glasby) Bailey (1845-1918). ^[1]

1881 Census: The family were living at 12 Rugby Terrace, Eton Street, Kingston-Upon-Hull, Yorkshire. He was 4 and at school and born in Newport, Yorkshire. ^[2]

1891 Census: The family were living at 21 Harrow Street, Holy Trinity, Hull. He is 14 and a tobacconist's errand boy at the port. He was born in Newport, Yorkshire. ^[3]

1901 Census: The family are now at 13 Haverlock Street, Hull. Charles 24 is now a Corn Merchant Porter, like his father at the docks (probably the Albert Dock). ^[4]

1907 Death: Charles died on the 10 September 1907 in Hull, East Yorkshire at the age of 30 of consumption and was living at 52 Tadman Street with his family. He was unmarried and a labourer. He was buried on the 15 September 1907 at Hull Western Cemetery (Borough Cemetery on Spring Bank in compartment 472, grave 45567. ^{[5] [6]} Charles has an obituary on 13 September 1907 in United Kingdom.^[7]
