Always a good idea to do a search first before creating a new profile (if they were born before 1900). If you don't have a last name, note the info you do have in the BIO section of related profiles until you can find more info before making a profile. Also, estimate birth dates and locations if you need to, and note it is an estimate in the BIO section. A country is better than nothing! :) Also, don't abbreviate locations if you can help it. We are an international site and BC may be British Columbia but someone from India might not know that. Oh, and source or list citations as you go, it may take longer to get things up but...
These are just a few tips I learned the hard way, so if it helps you out, all the better.
