Biography

John was born in 1244. He was the son of William Beauchamp and Ida Longespée. He was a minor at the time of his brother William's death in 1262, and of age in 1265, pointing to birth in about 1244.[1]

In 1262/1263 he claimed some lands which his brother William had given away when he was dying.[1]

He died fighting on the baronial side against the forces of Henry III in the Battle of Evesham on 4 August 1265.[1][2]
