Researcher's Notes

Hannah's father, John Bell died in 1746 and his wife died in 1768. He was the son of another John Bell,1668-1713, and his wife, Ann Bennett. Ann Bennett was the daughter of Richard Bennett, Jr. His father, Richard Bennett, Sr., of Isle of Wight County, Virginia, made a deed of gift to Ann Bell "now the wife of John Bell, lately Ann Bennett, daughter of Richard Bennett, Jr."

The elder Richard Bennett (1625-1709) was probably a son of Thomas and Alice Bennett, although this is not certain. One source gives death date as 1788. [4]
