Benjamin5 Bell (John4, Richard3, Richard2, ?1) He married Anne Champion, daughter of Benjamin Champion and Elizabeth ?. She died 1777 in Sussex County, Virginia (Source: Lyndon H. Hart, III, Surry County, Virginia, Wills, Estate Accounts and Inventories; 1730 - 1800, (Southern Historical Press, Inc., Easley, South Carolina; 1985).).

Note: Benjamin and his family moved from near Petersburg, Virginia to the Congaree area of South Carolina thence to today's Edgefield County, South Carolina during the 1750's. He acquired many parcels of land while there. He was a member of the Mine Creek Baptist Church, having meetings held in his home on occasion. In 1779, as a captain, he raised a company and joined General Andrew Williamson in a campaign against the Indians. He was killed in a skirmish in that year. Died in the Cherokee Wars.
