"Andrew Graham Beshear (born November 29, 1977) is an American attorney and politician who is the attorney general of Kentucky and governor-elect of the state. A member of the Democratic Party, he is the son of Steve Beshear, the 61st Governor of Kentucky, who served from 2007 to 2015.
Beshear graduated from Vanderbilt University and the University of Virginia School of Law, before working at Stites & Harbison. He was elected attorney general in 2015. As attorney general, Beshear sued Governor Matt Bevin several times over issues such as health care and pensions, before challenging and defeating him in the 2019 gubernatorial election."
