Biography

Birth and Early Life

Nehemiah Bosworth was born to David Bosworth (1669-1747) and Mercy Sturtevant (1676-1707) on 15 March 1702 in Plymouth, Plymouth, Massachusetts as the third of four children.[4]

  1. David Bosworth, Jr. born 21 May 1699 in Plymouth, Plymouth, Massachusetts.[4]
  2. Jonathan Bosworth born 16 February 1701. He died 24 January 1742 in Halifax, Plymouth, Massachusetts.[4]
  3. Hannah Bosworth born 24 June 1705. She died on 5 November 1781 in Plympton, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA.

His mother died in 1707 when Nehemiah was five years old. His father married Patience Maiden name unknown as his second wife. She was born about 1668 and died 10 Sep 1758 at the age of 90 in Halifax, Massachusetts.[4][1]

  2. Sarah Tomson (1699-1776) on 26 March 1729 in Plympton, Plymouth, Massachusetts.

  1. Deborah Bosworth born 19 November 1726 in Plymouth County, Massachusetts. She never married. Deborah died on 21 April 1746 in Halifax, Plymouth, Massachusetts[2] at the age of 19.[1]
  2. Susanna Bosworth born 8 September 1728 in Halifax, Plymouth, Massachusetts. She died as an infant at the age of 1 on 8 December 1729 in Plympton, Plymouth, Massachusetts.[1]

Children of the Bosworth-Tomson Marriage

  1. John Bosworth born 29 December 1729 Plympton, Plymouth, Massachusetts.[2] He married Sarah Jackson (1734-1807) after 25 December 1758 when an intention to marry was published in Halifax, Massachusetts.[2] John died on 27 November 1801 in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, USA.
  2. Nehemiah Bosworth, Jr. born 3 April 1731 in Plympton, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.[1] He died before 24 December 1802 in Rochester, Plymouth, Massachusetts.
  3. Peter Bosworth born 2 January 1733 in Plymouth County, Massachusetts. He died on 9 November 1740 in Halifax, Plymouth, Massachusetts.[1]
  4. David Bosworth born 28 November 1735 in Halifax, Plymouth, Massachusetts.[1] He died before 16 December 1766.
  5. Sarah Bosworth born 5 December 1737 in Halifax, Plymouth, Massachusetts.[1] She married Cornelius Sturtevant (1734-1826) on 16 December 1766 in Plympton, Plymouth, Massachusetts. Sarah died on 25 April 1826 in Keene, New Hampshire, USA.
  6. Susanna Bosworth born 8 November 1739 in Halifax, Plymouth,Massachusetts.[1] She married Jesse Sturtevant (1743-1819) on 10 November 1767 in Halifax, Plymouth, Massachusetts. Susanna died on 19 May 1824 in Belfast, Waldo, Maine, USA.

Death and Burial

Nehemiah died on 22 December 1762 in Halifax, Plymouth, Massachusetts. He was buried in the Sturtevant Cemetery, Halifax, Plymouth, Massachusetts. Plot: Row-4, Plot-5, Site-2. Find A Grave: Memorial #67878418
