Biography

Jonathan Burch, son of Jonathan Burch and Mary Rathbone, was born in Stonington, Connecticut, on September 16, 1740 [1].

He married Eunice Strong about 1765 - parents of Jonathan, Admiral Rodney, Hyrum, Jeremiah, Diadama, Bethany, Sarah, Asa, Rebecca and Benjamin (most, if not all of the children were born at Wells, Rutland, VT)

Loyalist, moved to Canada. lived in Burford Township, Oxford County (now Brant County), Ontario. Had 100 acres in Oakland, Brant County, Ontario. The Burch book does not record any of this, and claims Jonathan as a patriot soldier.

Jonathan Burch passed away about 1805.

The listed spouse of Burch-1784, Eunice Strong, is really the wife of Moses Stanley.
