Notes

Re dob. Premerge profiles had before 1710 on one and about 1691 on another. However, the est. dob for the parents of 1680 presented a conflict with the 1691 date, so it was adjusted to 1700. However, it may be that it is the parents' ages that need adjusted.

Due to the wording in the 1709 will of Christian Harmanson, there is confusion regarding Robert's relationships.

Harmonson, Christian. Will (copy). Marde Feb. 10, 1708/9. Heirs: sons Harmon and John Harmonson; dau. mary Harmonson; sons-in-law William Butcher and Robert Butcher; sister-in-law Mary Crague; friend Alexander Moleston; Mary Cupman; John Dreadin (uncle of son John Harmonson). Exec'rs, William Shankland, Edward Crague, Alexander Molliston. Wits., Nathaniel Scarborough, Samuel Hopkins, Sr., Jennett Hopkins, John Hall. Prob. Feb. 14, 1708. Arch. vol.A74, page 97. Reg. of Wills, Liber A, folios 71-75. [2][3]

From this, it is believed that this Robert was a stepson, adopted by Christian Harmonson, his mother being the Unknown Dreadin (Dryden) and sister of John Dreadin (Dryden).

Another possibility is that son-in-law is used as it is today and that Robert was married to a daughter of Christian:

Robert Butcher and Mary Harmonson
Christian Harmonson and Unknown Dryden
William Dryden and Agnes Unknown

One problem with this is that the Mary that Christian mentions in his will appears to be unmarried.

Butcher-3427 and Butcher-1145 are not ready to be merged because: No source for birth or death but from wills seems same person.

I have this person as Robert Bruce Butcher, 22 Jan 1700-4 Feb 1763, does that sound possible to you? Otherwise I will add as a new person. Suggestions states that the father was dead before William Garfield Butcher was born. Let's try to figure this out.

Butcher-1213 and Butcher-1145 appear to represent the same person because: This merge has been pending for more than 18 months, so I am re-suggesting it. These are two men with the same name, both married to the same woman. The year of birth is indeterminate for both (before 1691 or 1710) -- although Robert appears to have been an adult in Christian Harmonson's 1709 will & I think the earlier birthyear makes more sense. No conflicts with -1213, as there is limited sourcing.
