Mary Jane Buttram was born on June 7, 1879 in Pondfork, Ozark Co., Missouri.[1] She was the daughter of Jacob Buttram and Mary Melinda Matilda Mahan. At age 1 she was in her parent's home, along with her siblings, Martha-26, John E-10, William D-8, Jacob M-6, and Nancy Ann-4, in Marion, Ozark Co., Missouri.[2]
Se married William Alexander Duckworth on May 24, 1898, in Ozark Co., Missouri.[3] They had 5 children.
In 1900 They were making their first home in Marion Twp., Ozark Co., Missouri, with their first born Minnie C-3 months, and their nephew Mike Donohue- 9 in their home.[4] They were still on their farm in Marion Twp., Ozark Co., Missouri, in 1910, where William was farming and she was tending the home and raising the children, Cora-10, Armelda-8, Jessie-3, and Lester, 3 months old. [5] By 1935, they had moved to Beaver, Taney Co., Missouri, where in 1940 it was just the two in the home with William working as a merchant in a General Store.[6]
She died on March 26, 1956, at the age of 76, in Ava, Douglas Co., Missouri, and was buried in the Otter Creek Cemetery, in Thornfield, ozark Co., Missouri.[1]
