Jesse Ambrose Buttram was born on April 3, 1884[1] in Thornfield, Ozark County, Missouri. He was the son of Jacob Buttram and Mary M Matilda Mahan At age 16, he was in his parent's home in Marion, Ozark County, Missouri[2] At age 26, he was in his parents' home on a farm in Harris, Muskogee Co., Oklahoma, with Jessie-26, his sister, Ollie 18, and her husband, Henry Tedder-25, in the home.[3] Both Jessie and Henry were working as Farm Laborers.
He married Mattie Leach (1894-1956) on September 10, 1911, in Muskogee, Oklahoma.[4] They had 3 children.
He is thought to have died in California, on January 29, 1945 at the age of 69, He was buried in the Elmwood Cemetery, Wagoner, Wagoner County, Oklahoma.[1]
