In the 1861 census Polite (age 43) was a farmer in Dundas, Kent, New Brunswick.[5] He was listed with his wife Annies (sic) and seven children.
In the 1871 census Hipepites (sic, age 50) was recorded as married in Shediac, Westmorland, New Brunswick.[6]
He died on 17 Oct 1896 in Shédiac and was buried two days later in Grande-Digue, aged 75.[7][8] The name of his wife was omitted in the parish register.
Research Notes
Hyppolite appears to be listed in the household of his son Aimé Caissie in the 1901 census in Shediac. So the 1896 death record should be for a different Hyppolite Caissie, but there don't appear to be any other potential Hyppolite Caissie men that it could belong to.
