Biography

Norris Carter was part of a Southern Pioneer Family.

Norris Carter lived in Appalachia, in Virginia.

Norris Carter was born on 8 November 1748. He was the son of Peter Carter and Judith Norris of Fauquier Co., Virginia, were among the earliest settlers in the Rye Cove. He married Agnes Allen circa 1770. Norris Carter lived on Cove Creek and was the father of six sons, from whom a large number of the Carters of the present day are descended. Norris Carter died in 1816. His estate was probated on 13 August 1816 at Scott, VA, US; his will was the first probated in Scott County, Virginia.^[1]
