Biography

Thomas Chastain was enumerated as son of the head of household in Civil District 15, Monroe County, Tennessee for the June 22, United States Census, 1900. He was noted as born February 1877 in Georgia and single. He was a farmer and an owner as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Ab Chastain, wife Elizabeth Chastain, stepdaughter Mary E Swaney, daughter Dora Chastain, son Caleb Chastain, daughter Minnie Chastain and son Guss Chastain.^[1]

As listed in the Find A Grave Index,^[2] Thomas J. Chastain is buried at Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Fort Loudon, Monroe County, Tennessee.^[3]
