Biography

Mary Cherry, daughter of James Andrew Cherry and Elizabeth Sheardown, was born on August 4, 1876 in Vaughan Township, Ontario, Canada.^[1][2][3] The physician that attended her birth was Dr. Stevenson.^[1] Her father was a farmer and their family lived at Concession 9, Lot 32 in Vaughan Township.^[1] This lot is located just north of the village of Kleinburg, on the west side of Highway #27, north of Kirby Road, at approximately these GPS coordinates: 43.869451, -79.648480.^[4]

Mary was 20 years old when she married Adam Goodfellow, 27 years, on January 27, 1897 in Kleinburg, Ontario.^[2][3][5][6] Adam, son of Emma Keyes and George Goodfellow, was a resident of Tormore in Albion Township.^[5][6] Mary was a resident of Kleinburg in Vaughan Township.^[5][6] Their marriage was witnessed by Herman Hambly of Nobleton, Ontario and Sarah Cherry of Kleinburg.^[6] Mary and Adam moved to the Nobleton area in King Township, where they had several children.^{[7] [8][9][10]}

Adam died in 1936.^[2][3]

Mary died on September 19, 1948 and was buried with her husband in Nashville Cemetery in Kleinburg, Ontario.^[2][3]
