N63Now spelt as Chesher. It would seem that the eldest son, Thomas Samuel Cheshire , was often in dispute with other settlers, shown as follow s from the Carcoar Court of Request: 1859 sued G. Lumdrin for building stables. 5/0/01859 sued James McVicar Promisory note. 6/17/61862 George Chesher sued by Charles Goodwin, promis ory note.1863 George Chesher sued by L. Meyer for goods sold.1866 Thoma s S. Chesher sued by B. Stimson, promisory note.1867 Thom as S. Chesher sued by James Dowling, work done 10/15/01867 Thomas S. Chesher sued by Mathew Dywer, case to Chesher. 1869 sued William Glasson, damage and trespass. 5/10/1869 Thomas S. Chesher sued by William Glasson, tresp ass. 1/15/1875 sued Jerimiah Nesan, illeggal branding of horse . 7/12/1877 sued Mr Collins for damage by trespass. 5/10/1877sued Mr Collins for slander, case dismissed. 1879 sued Mr Walsh for trespass of sheep. There can be no doubt that the Cheshire children wer e hard working rural workers and in the Public House trade , (Hotels-Inns). They were running these business interest s around Teasdale and way out to Eugowra in NSW. They wer e always trying to improve, prepared to gamble on the futur e, and were quite awarethat what they tried, could go wron g, and they were often placed in such a finance position, t hat they had to sell out. One may imagine the Cheshers were hard men to deal wit h, and many an enemy was made, as well as many strained rel ationships within the family. For instance, all the brother s were left equal shares in "Teasdale" after their father d ied, this eventuated to one brother havingfull ownership , who even took action to have another brother pay back a l oan. When the other brother could not pay back the loan, hi s share of the property was claimed. Married Catherine Ahern, 18th March, 1857, at Teasdale Park. Daughter of James Ahern and Jane Miller.
