Eleazar (Eliezer) Churchill was born April 20, 1652, the son of John and Hannah Churchill of Plymouth, Plymouth Colony[1][2][2][3][4][5]
Most records use the contemporary spelling of Churchill, however his gravestone says Churchell and some of his father's records spelled the name Churchwell.
By 1676, he was married to Mary Bryant[2][3][4][6][7][5], and their children included:
Hannah[7], born Aug. 23, 1676[5]; living unmarried in 1715[2][3][4]
Joanna[7], born Nov. 25, 1678[5]; living unmarried in 1715[2][3][4]
Abigail[7], born 1680; who married first Francis Billington, May 17, 1703[5]; and second, Nathaniel Howland, as his second wife in 1725[2][3][4]
Eleazar (Eliezer) Jr[7], born Feb. 23, 1682; who married Hannah Bartlett, the daughter of Robert, and who died 21 Sep 1754[2][3][4][5]
Stephen, born Feb. 16, 1685[7]; who married Experience Ellis, daughter of Matthias, and who died 6 Oct 1750[2][3][4][5]
Jedidah, born Feb. 27, 1687; who married Dec. 1, 1709, Thomas, the son of William Harlow[2][3][4][5]
His first wife may have died, and on February 8, 1688, he may have married Mary, daughter of Edward and Faith (Clarke) Doty[2][4], and their children (the other sources give the same children to one wife, Mary Bryant above) included:
Mary[7], born 1688; who married Edward Stevens, Dec. 23, 1708[2], and who died 25 Jan 1723[3][4][5]
Elkanah[7], born March 1, 1691, who married Susannah Manchester, Dec. 24, 1720, and who died in 1764[2][3][4][5]
Nathaniel[7], born April 16, 1693; who died March 24, 1714[2][4][5]
Jonathan( John)[7], born Sept. 12, 1698 ; who married first Mary Jackson, of Portsmouth, N.H, and then married Mrs. Elizabeth Cotton, and who died 7 Oct 1769[2][4]
These sources indicate that he lived in Hobshole on a part of his father's original estate. He was a ' planter ' in 1673 at Plymouth, Mass. A planter was a term used to describe growers of tobacco and corn. In 1676 he was a selectman; in 1683 a freeman in Plymouth; in 1684 was involved in surveying along the Kings Highway; in 1696 he sat on a jury; in 1703 his land at South Ponds was extended in order to build a warehouse.
Elezear Churchill Sr died March 5 or 25, 1716[8][4], and his buried at Burial Hill in Plymouth. His gravestone reads: "Here lyes ye body of Mr Eleazer Churchell deed March ye 25th 1716 in ye 64th year of his age." [9]

I have removed his supposed second wife, Mary Doty, as she was still married and having children with Samuel Hatch at the time it is stated here that she married Eleazer. Sources on her profile suggest that Eleazer must have married a different woman.
