Biography

Elizabeth Claiborne was the daughter of Capt William Claiborne and Elizabeth Whitehead, daughter of Col Philip Whitehead of King William county, and a granddaughter of Richard Whitehead of Gloucester county.[1]

Elizabeth appears in the Claiborne pedigree: a genealogical table of the descendants of secretary William Claiborne of the junior branch in the United States, with some other tracings in the female line, as the daughter of William Claiborne, son of William Claiborne, and Elizabeth, daughter of Col. Philip Whitehead.

According to this record, Elizabeth was married to Benjamin Lawson and Isaac Jackson. Her children shown in this record were Robert Lawson, Claiborne Lawson, Benjamin Lawson, William Lawson, Philip Whitehead Jackson and Katherine Jackson. Omitted from this record is Philadelphia Lawson West who is confirmed to be the brother of Robert, Claiborne, Benjamin and William Lawson who is confirmed as their sibling in a chancery record. [2]

Spouses

Elizabeth Claiborne married first Benjamin Lawson and secondly Isaac Jackson. [1]

Alternate death date/location: 1800 in Elbert, Georgia
