John McConnell Cook named his son William Sloan Cook. My relative was Samuel Y. Cook b. 1823 Blount Co TN, who died in Oregon in March 1888 at La Grande, Union Co OR. He had previously been in Yamhill OR. He is a registered Oregon Pioneer. He also named his son William Sloan Cook.

It is obvious that John McConnell Cook and Samuel Y. Cook are brothers. Both born in Blount Co TN, both in Oregon early, both nameing their sons the same. A TREE states their parents were Margaret SLOAN and John James Cook, s/o James Cooper Cook and Ann McConnell. Here is the link. Please reply with your thoughts and comments. Let's work together to get my relative attached to your family. Best regards, Lilly Martin https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/G46D-3Y4
